February 1, 2009

I cannot believe it is already February. The Super Bowl is on right now between Pittsburgh and Arizona. I am cheering for Arizona, but right now they are behind and it is almost half-time. I just finished baking a bunch of chocolate chip cookies.

CC shared a flu bug with me this weekend and last night I was not feeling well at all. I slept most of the day and am feeling better now.

I interviewed for an assistant manager position with BNSF over a week ago, but have not heard anything back yet.

Clinton goes back to the hand surgeon tomorrow morning at 8:15. Hopefully they will be able to do the surgery on his left hand-index finger soon so he can heal and get back to work. He does not do well long when not working. I guess that is why Heavenly Father always wants us to work and be anxiously engaged in a good cause. I took some cabinet doors off my kitchen cabinets a couple of weeks ago. He has painted two of them. I keep encouraging him--because that is something he can do with one hand. He has had to go to physical therapy everyday for the past couple of weeks.

Clinton and CC took the Drag Truck over to Dennis Miller's yesterday where CC and Dennis tore it down again...... They took the heads over to a place to have them looked at 'again'. I am not a fan of this hobby, hopefully they can get it fixed so we can get rid of it! This has been a nightmare that I voiced opposition to from the beginning. It has been a lesson in 'listening to your spouse'. I have tried to not stir things up lately because he knows it was a big mistake and he is trying to get rid of it.

I am trying also to encourage CC with his school work. I cannot believe his counselor allowed him to sign up for Astronomy, but they did and he is not doing well at all. He has to pass it in order to graduate along with taking Government which he is taking again and now has a C.
I just don't understand how his mother cannot take any interest in helping him in his school work by at least making sure he has his homework done.

Oh well--enough of that. I have plenty to keep me busy. I sent a valentine-missionary package of chocolate to Elder Adam Christiansen in Montreal, Canada yesterday. Hopefully he will get it by valentines' day. I know his dad has a lot on his plate right now as he was told he had to lay off some of his employees last Friday in Houston.

I am terribly worried about this economy under the control of tax and spend liberal democrats--who want socialized everything. We are mortgaging ourselves into oblivion. BNSF 'furloughed' about 3,000 scheduled employees last week. We have about 700 locomotives in storage along with over 4,000 freight cars. Thus they don't need the people to run them because the business is not there. Luckily in my department 'Finance' we are already short handed and have too much work to do. There are only three of us in my group that do what I do!!! Amber, Sherlyn and me. We are terribly busy.

Better go and get my cookie-kitchen cleaned up...
